David Miles Huber - Tranquility

tranquility cover art

Tranquility (CD & DVD) is a down-tempo tour-de-force that transports the listener from a world of anxiety to a relaxed place of peace. This surround sound collection of evocative beats and acoustic instruments guides you into a visually-lush and ambient environment filled with soothing textures that magically slows down the 21st Century pace of life. Tranquility is a visual chill out opera that’s perfect for putting on at the end of the day and transporting to a different world.

After listening to music all day long, this is a nice change and a great addition to the collection. It is reassuring to know that music can be made to soothe in many ways, and that with few notes and much space between, a different relaxation and enjoyment can occur. That is the genre's strength and David's own intent in creating atmospheric soundscapes that don't clutter or annoy.

Whether you want to relax intentionally along with the music or not is your choice, but it functions best either like that or as a relaxational soundtrack on top of which to do other things, as it’s very non-intrusive.

It's important to take time, to do anything, and while this may challenge you at first (as there isn't a 'hook' every 10 seconds), you'll receive a different reward if you let yourself give in to the challenge of slowing down to take it in.
Give it a try, especially if it's your first foray into meditative music. You might be surprised at the effect.

1. innerbase (12:38) – Light shimmers and dances upon the water, as visuals soothingly travel beneath the surface to a slow and healing eastern beat.
2. renaissance (13:45) – An ethereal fog lifts from the water, turning into a dance of light and color as the scene transports you into a chilled universe.
3. serenitatis (19:25) – Truly a visual masterpiece that begins with the super-processed visuals of a crystal ball as it slowly descends into an undulating waterfall. Frogs, beats, vocals and processed shimmering water make this a visual chill out opera of nature.
4. lunacy (10:42) – The slow currents of an ocean wave makes way to processed special effects that are truly unique and visually stunning.
5. tranquility base (14:43) – Inspired by the Apollo 11 moon landing, this inter-stellar chill out composition, places you in the drivers seat of the lunar landing mission while simultaneously transporting you far from the everyday world.
